Hire new chief
Steinbrueck's first move on public safety would be commence a search for a new chief who can lead effectively down through the ranks.
Use Sound Transit plan
Steinbrueck thinks Seattle should participate in the regional light-rail plan through Sound Transit, and focus on making Seattle easier to get around by bike, car, foot, and wheelchair.
End them
Steinbrueck says tent encampments exist because of a lack of available housing for the poor. The city should address the root causes of homelessness and provide housing in order to make encampments unnecessary.
OK as affordable housing
Steinbrueck says aPodments serve a need, but should be placed sensitively in places like South Lake Union, where they can be housing for the workforce.
Wrong location
He's against it, and worked for the Port to fight its proposed location in Sodo.

Steinbrueck thinks the new rates are too expensive and hurt businesses.
